New College Scholarship Announcement
mikeroweWORKS Foundation Work Ethic Scholarship Program
For the fourth consecutive year, the mikeroweWORKS Foundation launches the Work Ethic Scholarship Program, offering a free pile of money to people getting trained for skilled jobs that are in demand. Anyone with a pulse and a desire to learn a trade is invited to apply. The Foundation has collaborated with This Old House to create the Generation Next campaign to help close the skills gap by encouraging young people to master the vocational trades that built this country, including carpentry, construction, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.

Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program
To be eligible for the Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

Liberty Community Association Scholarship
This scholarship is available in Mr. Adam's office. The L.C.A. Scholarship will be awarded at Awards Night. This scholarship will be payable to the winner's school of choice to be applied towards his/her educational expenses.
Amount: no less than $500
Deadline: April 21, 2017
Patricia & Leonard Kramer Memorial Scholarship
The Patricia & Leonard Kramer Memorial Scholarship, awarded by Altrusa of Quincy, Illinois Foundation, is a one-year (Fall -August/September Winter - January - May/June) non-renewable award for a resident of Adams county. This scholarship is for a high school senior enrolling in an accredited college, university or technical school. The scholarship will be sent directly to the institution. Half of the award will be applied at the beginning of each semester of the 2017-2018 Academic year.

- High school seniors, high school graduates, or GED equivalent who are enrolled or planning to enroll at an accredited two-year college, vocational, technical school or other approved technical institute in the United States.
- Enrolled or planning to enroll in an approved vocational or similar trade-related program. See list of approved programs.
- Planning to complete a trade-related program after December 1, 2017.

Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program
To be eligible for the Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
- Have completed high school (or earned a GED)
- Will be enrolled in eligible program in Fall 2017
- Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a career or technical program at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States
- Demonstrated critical financial need (must be eligible to receive the Federal Pell grant as determined by completion of the FAFSA)
- Demonstrated perseverance in overcoming adversity
- Be under the age of 30
- Be a United States citizen
