Siemens Competition for Math, Science, and Technology
Fifty-four regional finalists will receive awards of $1,000 each, and six regional winners will receive awards of $3,000 each. National runners-up will receive scholarships ranging from $10,000 to $50,000. The first-place national winners will receive awards of $100,000 each. All awards are made on an annual basis and are non-renewable. Individual and team entries receive separate awards. AES Engineering Scholarship Program
This award is for international and U.S. students.d is available on the Advanced Engineering Solutions (AES) website. There is no application packet for this award. To apply, the applicant must submit an essay of no more than 1,000 words addressing the topic to be announced at a later date. The student should include his/her name, school of attendance, and his/her future plans for education in the heading of the essay. Olin E. Teague Scholarship
Applications and information about this award are available online at the National Space Club website using the link provided. To be considered for this award, the student must submit a completed application form as well as the following supplemental documents: an official transcript of high school records; at least one letter of recommendation from faculty member or a mentor from a STEM community; a statement of intent describing the applicant's academic goals; an essay of at least 500 words and no more than two pages regarding participation in some aspect of aerospace science and technology; and three page minimum research paper. Science, Mathematics, And Research for Transformation Defense Scholarship (SMART)
Students must apply online on the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) website. The student will need an active email address to create an application account. The student must provide the following information to complete the application: contact information; citizenship and demographics; academic background; proposed area of study; professional experiences; publications and presentations; awards and honors; summary of goals; references; GRE scores (required for graduate applicants only and must be taken by Nov. 15); SAT/ACT scores; 'How Did You Hear About SMART?'; and transcripts. Student Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older as of Aug. 1.
- Must be a full-time student.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national. Persons who hold permanent residence status are not eligible.
- Must be pursuing a degree in and have a strong desire to continue in a career in one of the following STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) fields: aeronautical and astronautical engineering; aerospace engineering; biosciences or physiology; chemical engineering; chemistry; civil engineering; cognitive, neural, and behavioral sciences; psychology; computer and computational sciences; electrical engineering; geosciences; materials science and engineering; mathematics and operations research; mechanical engineering; naval architecture and ocean engineering; oceanography; and physics or physical sciences. Students who are pursuing interdisciplinary studies that involve any of the above fields are also eligible to apply.
- Must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a STEM field from a regionally accredited university or college. Please note: Undergraduate students must be currently enrolled; graduate students may be currently enrolled or awaiting notification of admission to an eligible program.
- Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
