AES Engineering Scholarship
Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluated the essays that are submitted. Scholarships are intended for future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. College JumpStart Scholarship Fund
The College JumpStart Scholarship Fund was founded in 2009 by Susan Lark of the San Francisco Bay Area and is funded through her generosity and corporate donations. All funds are used to support students. It takes many volunteers to make the College JumpStart Scholarship work -- from technical and customer support to judging all of our fabulous applications. Teamsters Essay Contest
Children and dependent grandchildren of Teamster members have until Sept. 30 to enter the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund Essay Contest, which gives higher-education students the opportunity to win a one-time $1,000 award from the union.
This year, applicants are asked to share their thoughts on the following topic: “What would you say to someone who says the following? ‘Unions were important at one time, but we don’t need them anymore.’” Essays should be 500 words or less and type written. Horatio Alger Illinois Scholarship Program
The award is funded through the generosity of the Brinson Foundation and Association Member Doris Christopher. The applicant must have a strong commitment to pursue a bachelor's degree at an accredited institution. The student may begin his/her studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution. The applicant must also plan to enter college no later than the fall following high school graduation. Each applicant must demonstrate involvement in co-curricular and community activities. Coca-Cola Scholars Program
The Coca-Cola Scholars Program is open to high school seniors who plan to pursue a degree at an accredited post - secondary institution in the U.S. You must have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be eligible for this award. Additionally, you must be one of the following: US citizen; US national; US permanent resident; temporary resident (in a legalization program); refugee; asylee; Cuban-Haitian entrant; or humanitarian parolee. Zombie Apocalypse Scholarship
Imagine that your high school/college has been overrun with Zombies. Your math professor, the cafeteria ladies and even your best friend have all joined the walking dead. Use your brain to flesh out a plan to avoid the Zombies, including where you would hide and the top 5 things you would bring with you to stay alive. VFW Voice of Democracy
The Voice of Democracy Program is open to student in grades 9-12. The theme for 2016-2017 is: “My Responsibility to America”. Students should record their reading of the draft to a CD. Good360 Sustainability Scholarship
We want to hear how sustainability has touched your life. If you’re a high school senior applying to college, or you’re currently a college student, and you have an interest in sustainability and the environment, then we’d love to hear your thoughts on what sustainability means to you. Thus, we’re sponsoring a college scholarship with an award of $1,000 to go towards tuition.
In order to be considered for the Good360 sustainability scholarship, we want to hear from you: What do you do to live sustainably? Post a photo on Instagram with your 200-300-word essay explaining what sustainability means to you and complete the form below.
